Just because you're a little "over the hill" doesn't mean you don't know how to have fun. In fact, some of your favorite pastimes have earned you a reputation as being "young at heart."

Refusing to act your age sometimes might actually be the key to a long, happy life. And if you want to enjoy that for yourself, grab your sweetheart and try one of these date ideas that will make you feel like kids again.

Visit the Zoo

Animals are fascinating. It's always fun to see how they interact and behave, both with each other and with humans. Taking a trip to the zoo will not only be an educational experience, it will give you and your honey something to talk about for the rest of the day.

Fly a Kite

Take advantage of a glorious windy day by hitting a nearby park or beach to fly a kite. This is a team-building activity that will strengthen your bond with your partner, and bring out your youthful sides.

Cook Together

Whether you take a professional cooking class or mix something up in your own kitchen, cooking is a fairly intimate activity. You'll learn more about your partner's likes and dislikes, as well as their approach to making food. This helps you get to know one another on a deeper level.

Play a Game

If you and your mate enjoy a bit of a challenge, find a game you both enjoy and play together. It can be a card game, a board game or a video game, as long as you can play it with two people. Just remember, it's not a competition, it's a date!

Go Ice Skating

Not only is ice skating fun, it's also a great form of exercise. Whether you've been lots of times before, or never been, you'll earn each other's trust when you're on the ice surrounded by a bunch of careless teenagers.

Have a Picnic

Instead of going away for the weekend, set up a picnic to enjoy as a couple. Go to a local park, or even use your backyard. Make it more romantic by doing a picnic at night, with candles lit to keep the romance going.

Visit a Theme Park

Got a love of adventure? Feed your need for speed at a theme park. You can enjoy rides and exhibits on your own and with your partner, so you'll both foster your need for independence, while connecting with each other.

Go Bowling

Don't strike out on date night, unless it's at a bowling alley. And don't rub it in your lover's face if you win. This is a time to celebrate your union, not your bowling skills. If you can find another couple to play against, that will give you a chance to work together and defeat your competition.

Play Mini Golf

You don't actually have to enjoy golf to enjoy mini golf. But you just might enjoy both! Mini golf is faster-paced and less challenging, so you'll probably have more fun with it than a serious game on the big course.

Play Mad Libs

Put those creative skills to use in a fun way with Mad Libs. You and your other half are sure to spend the night laughing, which is always a positive thing. The couple that laughs together, well, enjoys being around each other.
